About the Program
The City of Houston and Harris County have provided more than $311 million in
rental assistance to over 75,000 households impacted by COVID-19 since the
program launched in February 2021. The funds have been distributed by three
agencies with established experience in helping people in need: BakerRipley,
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, and The Alliance.
"Our community continues to suffer great economic damage resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, with many people unable to cover basic necessities, including rent. This program will bring relief to those across our region who so desperately need it, allowing families to stay in their homes while addressing the collateral impact on property owners."
Sylvester Turner City of Houston Mayor
"As we continue to confront the challenges created by the Covid -19 pandemic, I am proud the City of Houston and its partners remain committed to providing eviction intervention resources for families undergoing financial hardship."
